My Skills

I am creative and possess a sharp eye for detail, which I use to create text or pictorial material for to the intended audience. I work well under pressure and can produce high-quality work in short periods of time. I have strong interpersonal skills and work well with diverse groups of people.

I have significant experience writing presentations (medical and non-healthcare based lectures). Freehand Illustration, creating infographics, and sculpting are other skills I possess. Over my years of work in healthcare, I became aware of the low health-literacy level in the United States. In order to address this issue and bridge health education gaps for patients I created freehand illustrations (Pictograms) of disease processes and treatments. The image shown on the right shows drawings of how people may feel when they have a blood clot. I have also illustrated, written, and self-published many children's books for my nieces and nephews. The cover of one of the books, "Paging Nurse Cedar!!! Cedar B. Explores multiple medical career options", is shown below.

My Passions

I have loved writing ever since I started engaging in the activity. Writing skills were a definite advantage when I developed several businesses through my company, BJB Unlimited Solutions, L.L.C. I handled all of the content writing for my one of my other business websites, https://www.grubdudz1.com. GrubDudz is growing, though freelance or full-timework takes priority to that business.

Photography, drawing, sewing, sculpting, hiking, and travel are my other areas of interest. My skills are quite diverse and I am able to generate great written material, pictorial representations of ideas (pictograms), or photographs for your website, business, or journal.

Pictorial (Pictogram) Patient Education Material

Pictograms are visual materials, drawings in this case, that convey information, ideas, and concepts. Visual communication can help present details to individuals who prefer visual learning, have poor reading skills, or struggle using English as their second language. Some of the pictograms are shown in the Photo Gallery at the bottom of this website.

The Passport for Diabetes Management has a page layout positioned so the work can be printed and assembled as a passport-sized booklet. This structure allows easy access to the booklet when packed in the patient's carry-on luggage.

Services Available:

My writing skills are quite versatile. I have published articles in medical journals and written materials for other fields or areas of interest. Writing and Illustrating children's books is one of my favorite activities. I also enjoy creating materials for "Open Access Design" that conveys information to people using any literacy level. I can draw just about anything, though I decline jobs (writing or illustrating) that involve profanity.

Photography services involve scenery, travel, and animals.

Display their FAQs

Q: How long does it take you to complete an article?

A: Generally, the turn around time is 24 - 72 hours, depending on the urgency and length of the requested piece. Completion time may be longer depending on the amount of research or details required. I will accept requests to modify the writing until it meets your approval.

Q: How long does it take for you to complete a single illustration?

A: Time for illustration completion varies based on the amount of detail in the drawing. I often email a preliminary sketch to the consumer for review to make sure it will meet their needs.

Q: What is the average price of a pictogram or drawing?

A: I do not provide "average cost" information as each drawing is so different. The cost of a project depends on the detail of the amount of time required for completion. Pricing reviews occur when the project details are available.

Q: What if your work does not exactly meet our needs?

A: I am open to constructive criticism and willing to revise my work!
